Physician Assistant – Primary Care

Position Summary


The Physician Assistant (PA) will work collaboratively with a dedicated clinical care team to provide evidence-based primary and family care services to a panel of patients. Responsibilities include accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health conditions, health counseling, and care planning. The PA will support positive patient outcomes through preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education while maintaining high-quality clinical standards.
This position reports to the Practice Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide primary and family evidence-based care, including accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health conditions, health counseling, and disposition planning.
  • Perform routine examinations and comprehensive patient evaluations to support positive health outcomes.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and interpret results to diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promote preventive healthcare through screenings, wellness visits, behavioral health support, and chronic condition management.
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their healthcare and wellness goals.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Open and close the clinic as required.
  • Manage inventory and clinical supplies.
  • Perform patient follow-up activities and care coordination.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect patient payments when applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment.
  • Manage patient appointments and scheduling activities.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation within the electronic medical record system.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies (or another health-related Master's degree in conjunction with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies).
  • Current National Board Certification.
  • Current state license to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent Primary Care experience in a family medicine or primary care setting.
  • Working knowledge of quality measures and chronic disease management.
  • Experience delivering patient-centered, evidence-based care.

  • Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure, if required.
  • Ability to work remotely as part of a clinical care team when applicable.

Education


Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or equivalent qualifying degree) with current National Board Certification and active state licensure required
